SGP1 - Increased latency and packet loss

The majority of capacity has been restored to the SGP region and performance should now be back to normal. Please log a ticket if you are experiencing higher than normal latency or packet loss.

History

Users in the SGP1 region may be experiencing high packet loss and latency as the result of multiple subsea cable faults in the region affecting all major providers. We are working with our providers currently to try and minimize the impact of this issue.

We are still actively monitoring issues with multiple subsea cable faults affecting major providers in the SGP1 region. We are continuing to work with our providers currently to try and minimize the impact of this issue. Users will still experience abnormal/high packet loss and latency during this time.

We are continuing to monitor the situation around the Singapore region. One subsea cable is scheduled for repair in the first week of March while the other cables are currently scheduled for mid march. These dates are subject to change due to the difficult nature of submarine cable repairs. There will continue to be higher than normal latency and packet loss for some customers until all cables are fully back in service.

One of the damaged subsea cables was repaired and returned to service on 2017-03-11. There are still two other cables undergoing repairs with no ETR at the moment. We will continue to provide updates as they happen.
